A small tapered dibber for pricking plant beds for large seeds and seedlings.
Small dibber that, yes, works just as well as the larger one. Use when planting seeds, seedlings and bulbs. Won't poke you as you bend over, when kept in your pocket.
Makes a sweet gift for a gardener and is perfect for children.
A dibber or dibbler is a pointed wooden stick for making holes in the ground so that seeds, seedlings or small bulbs can be planted.
The dibber was first recorded in Roman times and has remained mostly unchanged since. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, farmers would use long-handled dibbers of metal or wood to plant crops. One person would walk with a dibber making holes, and a second person would plant seeds in each hole and fill it in.
Made in England from oiled beech wood.
Measures: 14 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm
Note: Price is for a single mini dibber.
About the Company
Creamore Mill is a design and woodturning workshop located in rural Shropshire, England. We create an innovative range of functional home and garden accessories which evoke traditional style. Our outlet is mainly through independent retailers across the UK and overseas.
Established by John Buckland in 1981, operations began in a ten foot square former wash house at the family’s previous home with a handful of tools and a wood lathe, and working locally sourced timber. Through this initial period a selection of designs came to the fore and developed the focus of the business.
Having soon run out of space the family moved to Creamore Mill which was formerly both a corn and wood mill dating back many generations. Taking on the Mill in a state of disrepair was a great opportunity, and the renovations carried out revived the Mills past association with woodworking and turning.
Steady improvement led to more mechanisation which is tempered by the high degree of hand work still practiced. Seeing progress from design through to despatch under one roof holds the artisan approach true.
John’s wife Cathryn and their five sons have provided much input over the years and sons Sam and Oliver now share leading roles.
With four decades of experience and many design originals under our belt, Creamore Mill continues to enjoy the support of its many advocates as a family concern.
